Welcome to BeingJill

I started writing a few years ago when my life was a shambles. At least, that’s what it felt like at the time. I was mid-40s, recently divorced, and jobless with a PhD. My three kids were, well…three kids, and everything from a hip replacement to the start of menopause just added to the joys.

Writing was my way of getting it all out. Letting go of my frustrations and trying to make sense of it all. Along the way, I discovered some of what I was writing was resonating with others. In some small, albeit minuscule, way, it was making a difference.

Life is far different today. I am 50+, remarried to a wonderful man, loving my career as a real estate agent, and generally very happy. My twins are college grads and out on their own. My “munchkin” is soon to graduate high school. I also now have two step sons; one in college and the other is the same age as my youngest. That makes things even more interesting!

The world is a crazy place. There’s been a lot going on. A lot to sit with from day to day. I find writing to be the best way for me to get it all out. Maybe something I say will mean something to someone else. If so, I’ll take it.

Enjoy!
